Around 2016, I saw Tommy People’s accordion lamps and I was immediately drawn to the brilliant design. I called Tommy and asked him if I could reproduce them, and he kindly gave me the go-ahead, as he was done making them. Of course, I got busy then, and put the idea in the back of my mind. Then in 2020 the lockdown came along, and the rainy day projects got dusted down and brought to life, one by one. I borrowed one of Tommy’s original lamps from a friend, and looked closely at the way it was put together. Each lamp is hand made, from start to finish, in small batches, in my workshop at my house in Kinvara.
